I work alongside the editor-in-chief to manage editorial workflow, build new and sustainable traffic sources, and propose initiatives to convert online readers into print subscribers. I commission, assign, and edit features from freelancers and staff, with budget and deadline constraints in mind. I collaborate with the ads team to conceptualize and fulfill sponsored special sections. I like to write about fun stuff like awe and wonder, space printers, and falling in love with a new city.

EDITORIAL: Oversaw the Fast Feed, Fast Company's breaking news vertical. Built the digital newsroom for our bi-coastal team. Managed a team of writers and interns, assigning and editing stories about tech, innovation, business, and entrepreneurship. Broke the story about a former NYC fire fighter's new design for the humble fire hydrant.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Managed social media strategy and output for FastCompany.com and its co-sites across multiple outlets (including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Vine, Google+). Helped initiate partnerships and social traffic exchanges. Covered live events (SXSW, ONA, Fast Company Innovation by Design conferences) via social media. Conceptualized fun and engaging social media projects to accompany editorial content. For example, for the #Unplug issue, I crowd-sourced reader stories about disconnecting from the Internet and compiled them into a guide readers could print and keep with them during their digital detox.

Oversaw audience growth via social media campaigns, partnership development, newsletter production and SEO. Crafted the social voice and implemented successful social media strategy resulting in 140% increase in social media traffic over 12 months and 200% increase in social media fan base. Boosted overall traffic by 40%. Pioneered daily link roundups and exchanges, launched The Week's Tumblr, and served as liaison between readership and editorial team, pinpointing audience habits. Managed five beats and published to the site regularly.
